In December, we were proud to present to you an original exhibition in our gallery, “(Be)Longing”, featuring works from two eminent Chinese photographers – Tami Xiang and Peng Xiangjie – who depict inhabitants of contemporary rural areas in China. While being very different in their techniques and approaches of this thematic, they share a strong sensitivity towards human suffering and dignity. They both depict social bonds which are specific to this lost world, and convey a strong feeling of nostalgia in their pictures, capturing the longing of belonging which all these individuals have in common.
Tami Xiang and Peng Xiangje are two photographers who truly impressed us with their talent, passion and hard work.
This catalog presents their artworks.
Language: English, Chinese, French.
